iAssist ("we", "us", or "our") operates the PreInspection mobile application (the "App"). This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our App and the choices you have associated with that data.

1. Information Collection and Use

We collect several different types of information for various purposes to provide and improve our service to you. When using the App, you may be asked to grant certain device permissions. These permissions are strictly necessary for the core functionality of the vehicle pre-inspection process.

A. Required Device Permissions

To function properly, the App requests the following permissions on your device:

• Camera & Media (CAMERA, READ_MEDIA_IMAGES, READ_MEDIA_VIDEO): Required to capture photos and videos of the vehicle during the pre-inspection process. These images are used to assess vehicle damage and condition.
• Microphone (RECORD_AUDIO): Required to capture audio if video recording is utilized during the inspection process.
• Location (ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION, ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION): Required to geocode and geotag the inspection location to prevent fraud and verify the exact location where the vehicle inspection took place.
• Storage (READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE): Required to temporarily save photos, videos, and zip files of the inspection data on your device before they are uploaded to our secure servers.
• Internet (INTERNET): Required to upload the finalized inspection data and media to our servers.

B. Personal Data

While using our App, we may ask you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify you ("Personal Data"). This may include, but is not limited to:

• User credentials (for login)
• Vehicle Details (Make, Model, License Plate)
• Claim or Inspection Reference IDs

2. Use of Data

iAssist uses the collected data for various purposes:

• To facilitate and process vehicle pre-inspections and damage detection.
• To authenticate users and manage access rights.
• To provide customer care and support.
• To detect, prevent and address fraud and technical issues.

3. Data Retention and Security

The security of your data is important to us, but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure.

• Local Storage: Inspection photos and data are temporarily stored locally on your device during the inspection.
• Cloud Uploads: Once the inspection is completed, the data is zipped and uploaded securely to our backend servers.

We will retain your Personal Data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy and to comply with our legal obligations.

4. Third-Party Service Providers

We may employ third-party companies and services to facilitate our App, to provide the service on our behalf, or to assist us in analyzing how our App is used. These third parties have access to your Personal Data only to perform these tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.

• Machine Learning / AI: We utilize Google ML Kit for on-device image labeling and processing to assist with damage detection.
• Mapping / Geocoding: We utilize third-party geocoding APIs to resolve location coordinates into readable addresses.

5. Children's Privacy

Our service does not address anyone under the age of 18 ("Children"). We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 18.

6. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Effective Date" at the top. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
